Can You Handlebar Beard Products

Celebrating Beard Independence Everyday!

In case you have not read any of my products posts, and maybe this is your first time on my websites, I’m going to make a statement that may seem like a no brainer but is important that you know this about me. I love beard products just as much as what I love shaving products as well. No, I don’t shave anymore but that doesn’t mean my love for great shaving products is gone. I still have my all time favorite shaving products I just choose not to shave anymore. what do you look for when buying beard products? Do you just look at the ingredients list? or do you have an eye for detail when it comes to packaging? Do you buy only products that your favorite celebrities use or from being influenced in some other way? Truth is there’s no wrong answer, it’s whatever makes you happy and content. What’s good for the goose isn’t always good for the gander. From my own personal standpoint I look at the ingredients list and packaging is always in my list of whether or not I will use a certain product. Influencers also fall some were in that list. Being influenced is not a bad thing it’s how you handle it is what dictates whether it’s a bad move or not. It’s okay to be influenced just do some research before you buy. Not doing your research on a product before you buy could lead to negative results and a bad experience with the product that you quickly bought. That was just my 2 cents. Now lets talk about beard care shall we?

The name of a product and the website created to sell it are key elements to how it will be perceived within its chosen nitch. I think the two names should somewhat match, maybe not word for word but close enough that they reference the same thing. If you visit Bob’s chicken shack online you shouldn’t just find shrimp for sale right? I recently had a chance to review a couple of beard products from consisting of a 2-2 oz. stainless steel canisters of ‘Wisdom’ & ‘Devotion’ beard balm. 2-1 oz. bottles of ‘Wisdom’ & ‘Devotion’ beard oil and a round wooden handled beard brush that comes in a sturdy stainless steel tin. Last but not least I also received a branded red cloth for wiping the excess beard oil/balm off my hands. The ‘Wisdom’ & ‘Devotion’ beard oil contain the same natural ingredients. The Olive-Grape seed-Rice Bran-Jojoba-Vitamin E & meadowfoam seed oil have a lot of skin care benefits that in turn can greatly affect the outcome of your beard in how it looks and feels on a daily basis. These natural ingredients help with tightening the skin fighting and preventing the premature signs of aging, Has Antioxidant & Antibacterial effects that can help treat acne, eczema and rosacea, Has a combination of vitamin E and fatty acids, Can deeply moisturize and hydrate the skin soothing dry-red and itchy patches, Has anti-inflammatory properties which help decrease chaffing and chapping. The matching ‘Wisdom’ & ‘Devotion’ beard balm also contain the same natural ingredients of Lanolin, Castor Seed Oil, Fractionated Coconut, Beeswax, Vitamin E and Shea Butter. These natural ingredients lock existing moisture into the skin drawing and absorbing additional moisture from the air around it creating a deep moisturizing effect, Has anti-inflammatory properties that can treat and sooth dry, irritated skin, These natural ingredients can quickly absorbed into the skin with no greasy left over residue, Contains antioxidants that help hydrate hair damaged by heat. Beeswax is one of my favorite natural ingredients it carries all three anti-viral-inflammatory and bacterial properties that help fight and heal chapped skin. Beeswax forms a protective wall over the top layer of skin that seals in the moisture but doesn’t clog the pores or smoother the skin. Beeswax is what gives the balm its holding power.

The ‘Wisdom’ & ‘Devotion’ beard oil and balm all contain some of the same natural ingredients. The only difference is the essential oils used to create the fragrance. The ‘Wisdom’ fragrance is both bright and woodsy the pine oil smells just like fresh-cut lumber with the added scent of lemon, all together it’s a very inviting aroma. The ‘Devotion’ has a deep but subtle Patchouli scent also combined with a deep floral scent. Both scents balance each other out creating a pleasant aroma that lasts throughout the day. What I like about both scents is that they are not overpowering at all. I could smell both scents on my moustache throughout the day but went unnoticed by a lot of the people around me. The matching beard balms also had the same aroma but was even more subtle than the oils. That is an important aspect to me and defines whether or not I will regularly use certain products. I don’t mind fragranced oils and balms as long as they are not overpowering and knocking people over as I walk by them. The subtle tendencies of both oils and balms means I will use them more often.

Lets talk about the name of the company and the brand itself. Can you handlebar started off with just selling moustache wax and increased their product line to beard care products. In my opinion and I have a lot of them, I think they get it. They understand what a beardsman is looking for in a product. How do I know that? it’s obvious when you use their products. The first time I applied their beard oil to my whiskers I said “Oh yea, I’m gonna use this stuff a lot”. Speaking from experience you yourself just know when you find the right stuff. There’s more than one element that helps you make that decision. It’s how it feels on your hands and how it applies to your beard. More importantly, It’s how the product makes your beard look-feel and smell after it’s been used first thing in the morning to how long it manages your beard throughout the day.

If I were to say to you “Can You Handlebar” what would be the first thing that came to mind? There’s a very good chance an image of this type of moustache will pop into your brain. In fact you don’t even have to have one to know what it is. The handlebar moustache has been around for a very, very, very long time and sometime throughout your life you have seen it worn by various individuals in every walk of life. This is one of the reasons why the company has hit the mark with its name. They are filling a need within a niche of a growing lifestyle trend that I feel is here to stay. The term ‘Can You Handlebar’ is synonymous with moustache styling and growth so naming your company and website is a genius idea. Now onto the good stuff. After my nightly shower I waited for my beard to dry a little bit and applied the beard oil. I decided to try the ‘Devotion’ first because I’m a big fan of patchouli, I always have been. All the oils come in a 2 oz. amber-colored glass bottle with eye dropper style lid. The dark amber color preserves the integrity of the natural oils found in the beard oil. I like the eye dropper style lid because it helps you conserve product compared to the pour out method were most of it remains on your hands. Usually I rub beard oil into the palms of my hands then apply it that way. Can You Handlebar says ‘Wait just one second, we have a better way to do this’. I decided to throw caution into the wind and try using their signature beard oil brush. I’m a creature of habit so this was going to be a brand new experience for me.

Their beard oil brush has a solid round wooden base with the company logo laser etched into the top of the handle. The soft horse hair bristles are deeply rooted into the handle. This is a substantial beard brush that you can really work hard and each time you use it the experience is just as good as the last. I followed the directions from their website on how to use their brush properly. I alternated the ‘Wisdom & Devotion’ beard oil for one week. I like how the oil coated my whiskers but didn’t leave a left over greasy residue. The oil soaked into my skin rather quickly. I added a small amount of beard oil to the center of the brush and started brushing downward starting on the right or left side burn slowly making my way to the other side. Then I did the same thing again but on the underside of my beard. I performed this routine 2-3 times to make sure the oil was evenly distributed throughout my whiskers. I then ran my wooden comb through my beard a couple of times checking for tangles. I usually have several tangles to deal with but this time I had none to deal with. In fact this was the case every time I used this brush. Functionally speaking the ‘Wisdom & Devotion’ beard oil performed in the same manner. The consistency was perfect, thick enough to coat my beard but thin enough to quickly soak into the skin and neither oil left a greasy residue. The only difference was the aroma each oil created. I like both fragrances so I really can’t decide which one is my favorite, so that’s something you will have to decide for yourself.

I waited a few minutes for the oil to take its hold and then moved on to the balm. This is where the brush really shines. The ‘Wisdom & Devotion’ dry oil beard balm comes in round high-grade stainless steel tins. Stainless is very strong and durable meaning your balm is safe while traveling in your pocket or dopp bag from being smashed or crushed. All their balm is primarily made by essential oils with the exception of added beeswax and shea butter. It’s a room temperature balm that is very pliable and melts in your fingertips with just a little friction. The beeswax gives the balm some holding power and the shea butter and essential oils directly condition your skin and facial hair. There are two ways to apply their dry oil beard balm. The traditional way of applying it by hand and then there’s the Can you handlebar way that follows in suite the same way you can apply the oil. The beard oil brush also works well with applying beard balm, it was specifically designed to fit in the tin of beard balm. It’s a simple process that saves you a lot of time in the bathroom and also product. Simply and gently rest the bristles of the beard brush on top of the balm and give the handle a quarter turn then start on the right or left side burn and brush downward working your way to the other side. complete the same process again on the underside of your beard starting on one side and working your way to the other side. I completed this same process 2-3 times just like I did when applying the oil making sure the balm was evenly distributed.

The ‘Wisdom & Devotion’ beard oil and balm from are fantastic products. They are easy to use and feel great on your skin and make your beard look great. They’re an all natural leave in conditioning product that have many skin and beard care benefits. The Beard Oil Brush is easy to use and if you choose to adopt their method of administering their products as a new routine may take you out of your comfort level at first but wont take long to get the hang of using and may turn out to be one of your favorite daily routines, in the end this new routine will save you time in the bathroom and product. Less product on the hands means less washed down the drain and more for later. From the beard oil to the balm and brush products are top-notch. Starting from the customer service to the packaging and the every day functionality of their products I really enjoyed using them. is an all American company that makes and packages all of their products right here in the U.S.A. They do not use any parabens synthetic fragrances or skin irritants only natural oils and butters along with some good old Michigan Beeswax. They also proudly display the list of ingredients on each package because they have nothing to hide and want you to know just how good their products are for your skin, your health and the environment. Would I suggest their products to other beardsman? Absolutely! Thanks for reading!
